Teen With Under Arm Sweat Issues For Over 2 Years

I am 14 years old and have had under arm sweat issues for over 2 years.

I have tried lots of antiperspirants (even men’s ones!) in desperation but they never work.

I would love to be able to just wear t-shirts like everyone else and be able to stop worrying about sweat marks instead of covering them with baggy hoodies.

Sometimes, I get so upset and cry as I get so depressed about it.

I have never told anyone, not even my parents because its too embarassing.

Can you give me some advice on how to cure my sweat problem or even just reduce it?

This is really bringing me down so any help would be much appriciated because I just don’t know what else to do.

Answer from Chris:

Hi there,

Sorry to hear about your underarm sweat issues that you’ve been having. I know that this can be especially difficult as a teen.

But rest assured, there are things you can do to help the sweating problem.

First, I would get some underarm sweat guards. They are cheap and effective at hiding the sweat so that you can wear those t-shirts that you would like to. That’s first. Read more about sweat guards (also called sweat shields, sweat pads, underarm guards, dress shields, and a hodge-podge of other names) here.

Second, I would get out in the open with it. That means, tell your parents about it. I know this is hard, but try not to be shy.

The fact of the matter is that millions of teens just like you suffer from similar sweating issues. Your parents love you more than you can possibly imagine.

If you’re hurting, they want to know about it. Believe me.

Once you tell them, what you should probably do is see a doctor about the sweating issue. They have a whole bunch of different things they can prescribe to help you.

Whether it’s a prescription antiperspirant like Drysol, or some other type of solution like oral medication to stop sweating, botox, drionics, hypnosis, acupuncture, or even surgery, when it comes to excessive sweating, the doctor is your friend.

Start with that and see what happens. The reality is that if you do these things, you will experience a significant reduction in the sweat and the anxiety associated with excessive underarm sweating (read more about anxiety and sweating here)

There are a bunch of other things you can do, too, and we’ve written about most of them right here @ Bye-Bye-Excessive-Sweating.com

And of course, our all-inclusive course, “14 Days To Stop Excessive Sweating” – a comprehensive guide detailing what to do, what not to do, what to eat, what not to eat, what to drink, what not to drink, and a complete program to get rid of the problem forever.

Also, keep in mind that when you’re young, you’re still developing and excessive sweating is pretty common. A lot of times, it goes away by itself.

I hope this helps and I thank you for sharing your story with us.
