Here's my story...My eccessive sweating started when I was 13 years old. As soon as I got dressed in the morning I seemed to start to sweat, and it was not a little wet spot it was a huge area that I couldn't hide by just keeping my arms down.
This made it tough for me because I am a pretty outgoing person and I couldn't really put myself out there because people would notice my sweaty pits. I thought my only option was wearing sweatshirts every day, so that's what I did.
Picture a kid wearing a sweatshirt in 90 degree weather.
As you can imagine this became very impractical and I started looking for alternatives. I tried the different antiperspirants that were advertised on TV which said that they worked as well as the special hyperhidrosis antiperspirants, like Maxim. Those were a waste of time and money and made me feel as if there was no hope. But I am not the kind of person who quits so I continued my search.
So the days and weeks passed and before I knew it I was 3 months away from my junior prom. It was then that I promised myself that I would find a way to stop my sweating. In the days that followed I searched the internet for possible ways to stop sweating, it was by doing this that I discovered this site. I became very familiar with this site and started to try some of the ideas that were suggested. A couple of weeks later I summed up enough courage to tell my parents, who were very understanding, and my mom made a doctors appointment.
I must admit that the first thing that the doctor gave me didn't work, but on my second trip I was given something that works. It is called 'DRYSOL.' It is a prescription antiperspirant that you apply at night, dry with a hair dryer, and wash off in the morning. It works like a charm and you only need to apply twice a week as your sole deodorant. When it is applied it makes the area where it was applied a little itchy, but the results are undeniable. This product can also be used on your hands and feet.
It is now 2 days after my prom and I have been using Drysol for the past month. My biggest problem now is trying to decide which t-shirt I want to wear each day. Thank you guys so much for helping me cure my excessive sweating disease.
