I Can’t Get a Job Because Of Hyperhidrosis!

I literally can’t get a job because of my hyperhidrosis!

What should I do? I have really, really, really bad hyperhidrosis and I can’t work, but I need insurance BAD!

Do you have any advice on how I can get money or insurance or something even when I’m sweating excessively?

If not, I’m screwed for the rest of my life! I’ll have to depend on my mom and dad for everything!

THANX FOR THE SUPPORT!

    Hi there,

What is the specific reason that you can’t get a job b/c of your hyperhidrosis?

I mean, I understand that you may have extremely bad sweating, but what type of job is it that you’re going after that the sweat disqualifies you for?

If the sweating is your only problem, I am very confident that you can get a job despite it. You may not be able to get your ideal job. You may have to do a job for a little while that you don’t necessarily love. But that’s life.

So what I would do if I were you, is to go out and get a job. Not your dream job. Just any job. The reason I’d do this is a few:

First, to maintain my sanity. Not working sucks. It makes you feel lazy and worthless.

Second, to make some money. I know you don’t wanna be dependent on your parents. So get a job and make some cash.

Third, because getting your ideal job will be a lot easier if you have a job already.

Getting a job while unemployed is hard. Employers think that there’s a reason that you don’t have a job. Such as having a criminal background, being unable to pass a drug test, or just being generally unemployable.

So if I were you, I’d get a job. And I know that having hyperhidrosis makes it more difficult to get certain jobs. Maybe a lot of jobs. But you can still get a job.

I used to wait tables when I was suffering the most from sweating. It was tough. My tables thought I was having a really hard time b/c of the sweat dripping from my face. It was harder to carry stuff b/c my palms were always sweaty. It sucked in general. But I did it.

What type of job are you trying to get?
