Excessive Sweating Herbs 101
"What Are The Best Excessive Sweating Herbs?" It's a question we get asked all the time. I figured instead of responding individually to each person that asks, I could just write this article. I'm always thinking : ) There are several natural, homeopathic remedies for excessive sweating. One of the safest ways that people have been treating hyperhidrosis for millenia is with herbs. There are herbal remedies for all sorts of different conditions and diseases. For the treatment of excessive sweating, there are a few different herbs we would recommend. Keep in mind, always talk to your physician or other professional before starting a new program. And make sure you tell them about any herbs or dietary supplements you're already taking. 1. Sage. Sage has been becoming renowned in the HH community as being almost miraculous. But it's not just when you drink it. There's a couple different ways to use Sage. First, you can drink it. Grab some Sage leaves--which you can pick up online or at the grocery store--and make a tea with it. Use: - 1 tablespoon fresh Sage or 1 teaspoon dried Sage
- 1 cup of water
- 1 lemon wedge (optional)
- Honey to sweeten (optional)
- Bring water to a boil. Take off the heat and put the Sage in the water.
- Let steep (sit there) for between 3-5 minutes.
- Strain, pour in cup, add lemon and honey if desired, and enjoy!

With regard to step #2, make sure you don't steep it for longer than 5 minutes. If you steep Sage for longer than you're supposed to, it loses some of it's benefit as an excessive sweating herb, and also can be dangerous. For best results, drink this tea after it has cooled. Drink 1/2 of a cup in the morning and the other 1/2 cup at night before bed. Another way you can use this Sage tea is to apply it directly to the skin of the sweaty areas. Simply use a sponge or cloth, dip it in the cooled tea, and apply liberally to the affected skin. Let it sit on the skin until it dries, then rinse the affected area with water. A third way to get the excessive sweat relieving benefits of Sage is by eating it! It's a delicious herb and makes a great addition to almost any dish. It's good with chicken, eggs, beef, salads, sandwiches...I'm getting hungry. Be creative. You can find tons of recipes online. Here's a recipe for an after-Thanksgiving soup that calls for Sage. Excessive sweating herbs, though, are different from drugs. When you're using drugs (i.e. prescriptions, dopey) you're likely to notice results immediately. But herbs work differently. They begin working after you have been taking them consistently for some time--usually about 30 days. If you don't notice results immediately, don't give up. It's just nature's way of making sure you deserve it's benefits! 2. St. John's Wort. This herb has been used for centuries to treat mild to moderate depression and anxiety. It's a mind-soother, a mood stabilizer. It has recently earned the nickname of "Nature's Prozac." St. John's Wort definitely has potential to help your sweating problem. Yea, it's not specifically an "excessive sweating herb," but the fact is that your excessive sweating has a mental or psychological component to it. If you try to dispute that, you're only fooling yourself. St. John's Wort will help by bringing a sense of calmness and serene to your everyday interactions. Over time as it starts to kick in (remember herbs aren't drugs so they take longer to work) you'll notice a big difference. You can pick up some St. John's in tablet form at hundreds of places both online and probably near your house. GNC or the Vitamin Store will have it. One that I would recommend is called MindSoothe. It's sold by one of my favorite online retailers, NativeRemedies.com. The main active ingredient in MindSoothe is St. John's Wort. It also has a formula of other beneficial mind-soothers and mood stabilizers. It's an effective homeopathic (natural) remedy for excessive sweating, and also works naturally to lessen anxiety, depression, and general feelings of "the blues." Whether you know it or not, almost everyone could use a little MindSoothe in their lives. Of all excessive sweating herbs, I'd try this one. Why is this on the same page with the excessive sweating herbs? Because if you're sweating excessively it obviously has a psychological component to it. So in addition to the herbs that are specifically for excessive sweating, you need something to stabilize yourself mentally. I know that a lot of you have been using drugs for this type of stabilization. Prozac, Xanax, whatever. I recommend that you discontinue those and start with a natural mood-enhancer like MindSoothe. This stuff will work well for you and you should give it a go. *Hint* You get a discount if you purchase more than one bottle, or if you pick up a bottle of one of the other homeopathic remedies they have at NativeRemedies.com. 3.
